Oatmeal Cookie CocktailI hope you’re all having fabulous holidays. Given that I’m now officially someone with an MBA as opposed to someone studying to get an MBA (turned in my final homework last Friday), I’ll try to post a little more often.

Of course, the best way to start is with a request! What follows is a great novelty cocktail for Christmas. Note that “great” here applies to novelty and not to the quality of the cocktail itself. The cocktail is too sweet to drink especially with the large amount produced by the original recipe I picked up. As such, I halved those measurements and the smaller version is what you’ll see here. While I can’t imagine wanting two in a row, it really does taste remarkably like an oatmeal cookie, which is reason enough to add them to the list of things to serve over the holiday season.

The Oatmeal Cookie Cocktail

  • 1/2 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1/2 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Jägermeister
  • 1/4 oz Cinnamon Schnapps
  • garnish with 3 raisins, skewered

Shake with ice and serve with a cocktail glass.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Especially to the many loyal readers who still reads this blog. The two of you are much appreciated.

  1. Outstanding. Thanks, Ardenstone!
(Hmm. I have none of those things. You don’t have any variations I can make with, say, scotch? Just kidding: off to BevMo.)

  2. My pleasure! It’s a fun cocktail, but it’s the only reason I ever use either of the schnapps (ok, the butterscotch ones have ended up in coffee before) so if you do end up with some shiny new bottles they’ll probably last a long, long time. Especially as one of these a year is about all I recommend.

Still, those first few sips really do taste like the title, which is delightful.

  3. Merry Christmas!
So, you remember that house a few doors down from you on 2nd, the one that always went a leeeeetle bit overboard for the holidays? http://www.flickr.com/photos/zyndsay/2126103112/

  4. Wow. That was the best thing ever. Some day they’re going to go crazy and add vast animatronics to that house. The next day it will get hit by lightning and rampage Columbus spreading carnage and destruction. Thanks so much for posting those! It brings back all kinds of pleasant, or at least weird, memories.
