I ended up hiking through a couple of miles of trail from Sunrise to Sunset points through the canyon. This was contrary to my original plan, given the light rain and incoming lightning storm. However, a tour guide leading a large gaggle of tourists mentioned his favorite spot in the entire park was just down this one trail... So I jumped down ahead of them, and kept an eye out behind me. I think this is what he meant, and it was pretty cool.
