Less than useful links
These are either links that took me to another that I used, or they just looked interesting until I followed them. Some might be quite useful to those researching Burroughs, but not my specific topic.
CHAC History Pages
http://www.chac.org/chac/chhistpg.html
Lots of good links organized alphabetically, by category, but no descriptions. I followed more than I care to count, to no avail, but if you have a topic that has information on the internet, it'd be a good place to go!
Computer History Web Sites
http://granite.sentex.net/~ccmuseum/hist_sites.html
A few links to "sites with interesting information about the history of computing." I found some good stuff following some of these, so if you're looking for similar subject matter, this might be a good place to stop by.
History Of Computing
http://ei.cs.vt.edu/~history/index.html
Lots of links to all sorts of stuff. I did a search on "Burroughs" and it turned up nothing, but if you're doing similar research this might be a good place to look.
North Dakota University
http://opal.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/~juell/cs730/a10/a10121.html
An article discussing why Burroughs machines were used as opposed to IBM machines. Interesting if you want to know about college politics, but no real information about the Burroughs machines themselves.
Princeton University, A Brief History of the Rice Computer
http://www.princeton.edu/~adam/R1/
Only relevant because it talks a bit about the history of the B5000. Do a search on Burroughs to find the applicable parts, which are mildly interesting, but not all that useful.
Unisys
http://www.unisys.com/
One would think that the company that is made from Burroughs and Sperry might have some good information. It's a shame this assumption is totally wrong except for a few copyright references and some resumes.
University of Waikato, History of the Department of Computer Science
http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/cs/history.html
History of some New Zealand colleges' computer history. Mentions why Burroughs was the machine of choice, although this article has more about the politics than the technological reasons.
